Reverend Arlene Bates

Rev. Bates was saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1966 and since that time has desired to see others come to know Jesus Christ in the free pardon of their sins. Her training for ministry has come from Bible college, Church of God Bible Institutes, Teen Challenge and other hands-on-training seminars and assignments. She has been communicating the Gospel through evangelizing, writing, preaching, teaching and radio and television productions.

For over twenty years she served with a team at the Mayview State Forensic Center. Monthly services were held.  Every December a special  Festival of Foods meal was served where the  entire Forensic Center: staff and residents were served. She also served as a counselor and minister to the women incarcerated at the Allegheny County Jail and to those at Teen Challenge of Rural Ridge, PA.

When Rev. Bates first started in ministry to the McKeesport area in the seventies, it was through in-home prayer sessions, with other ministers in the area, and then through the “Gospel Light Mission” work with the motto, “His Hand in Love Extended.” This has now become the work of the media ministry outreaches.
